Call of Duty Fans Brace for Awkward Year as Modern Warfare 3 Releases Just a Year After Modern Warfare 2

Even though it wasn’t announced, there are reasons to think that this year’s Call of Duty won’t be like other years. Last year, there were rumors that Treyarch’s next game would be delayed by a year, making 2024 the last year with a “premium” Call of Duty game.

Modern Warfare 2, on the other hand, got a second year of live service support. Now that Modern Warfare 3 has come out just a year later, it makes people wonder what this part is like.

Even though not much is known about Modern Warfare 3, it will likely have a story mode, multiplayer, and maybe even co-op modes. But it might feel more like a stopgap than a complete follow-up. Depending on how you look at it, this could be a good thing because it could mean that the content and level progression of Modern Warfare 2 will keep going.

Activision is expected to reveal more about Modern Warfare 3 soon.
