Metal Gear: The Iconic Stealth Series Hits a New Milestone

Konami recently released an update on its business in digital entertainment. Even though the report had a lot of jargon, it had some interesting information. As of June 2022, all Metal Gear games had sold a total of 60 million copies. This is a big deal, especially since the last new game in the series was Metal Gear: Survive, which came out in 2018.

In fact, the series managed to sell 700,000 copies in the nine months leading up to June 2022. This information came from sales data collected in September 2021.

Fans can see that Konami wants to keep the Metal Gear series available. They have made a lot of plans to make this happen. On October 24, the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 will come out. This collection has all of the Metal Gear games, even Metal Gear 2: Snake’s Revenge, a non-canon game that Hideo Kojima doesn’t like. The collection will also include things like screenplays and music as extras.

Konami says that you can’t use a keyboard and mouse to play the Master Collection on Steam. But it still needs to be clarified if this is true for all of the games in the bundle since the first two games’ PC versions worked with a mouse and keyboard. Also, Master Collection Vol. 2 is coming out soon. It may include Metal Gear Solid 4, which has only been available on PlayStation 4 until now.
